Tips on chip carving

Here are my thoughts and hints on the midset of chipcarving. Relax; the knife has a way of focusing the attention.

1. Carve each chip as though it were the only chip in the world.

2. Know where each chip begins and where it ends. (Where it comes from and where it is going.)

3. Do not dwell on the blade.

4. Bring your breath into harmony with your chips.

5. Dive deep.

6. Be bold.

7. Carve smooth, even and once.
